Recipe: 3 Course Meal…Alaska Style

Step 1: Zero degrees and less…dress warm, be prepared!
Step 2: Cut a stout green willow branch and carve to a clean point
Step 3: Build a fire, make sure to get a good bed of coals going


Step 4: Cook hot dog on willow stick over fire, contemplate life


Step 5: After cooked to perfection (blackened outside is OK, hot inside is a must),
take off stick with a bun, apply gormet mustard to taste, eat before it gets cold!

    Looks delicious … especially because it is some warm food ? In Alaska, you have those great spaces that allow such experience. I would not venture doing something similar in Belgium … people already feel I am "crazy" enough being in those woods with Julie at night …

    It sounds like a real feast – and I bet it tasted like one to you as well –  being out there with just you surrounded by nature at its most beautiful – how blessed you are to be able to experience and enjoy the simple beauty of nature and life like that – but then I am guessing you already know how blessed you are Steve – it shines through in your pictures and your words 🙂

    I have been absent from Live Spaces for so long but I am back. . . just in time to wish you and your loved ones a very Happy New Year!!
    We have not had any snow in Tokyo yet, but it has been snowing in the northern part of Japan and a very heavy snow fall is predicted to fall in the western and northern parts this evening but not Tokyo. . . at least not until about the middle of January.

    Ok, Cindy and I will bring the graham crackers, marshmellows and hershey candy bars for the s\’mores, you bring the hot dogs, buns and grey poupon (some pickle relish, too please!)…oh let\’s not forget the cloth napkins and…

    Love the fire images (no surprise there lol).  I wish I could do that across in the soccer field but I\’m sure I\’d get arrested.  Dumb laws.   Looks like a great way to spend time contemplating life.
