A Moment

After days and days of grey cloudy sky,
I was shown beauty, when I went out to find it, seeking as I do…
and I was shown this thing that touched more than just a sensor in my camera.
I was shown the beauty in hue, depth and landscape yes, a photo op
and I saw in a moment of the beauty of this life, all my friends, loved ones, and a moment in creation,
I feel truly blessed and I am amazed by such things, and I hope you all do too,
and may we remember the beauty of a clearing of a cloud for a moment,
a moment just enough to let the light through

Wow !! You always have a way of making us see what is really
important in life. It doesn\’t cost a dime, and it was always there all
around us the whole time.  We just need to take the time to appreciate it more often.
Thanks Steve for making me stop and take a look around.  Love to read
your words. So self healing.  Dana

That is beautiful. We use to live in Chugiak so everyday going to Anchorage to work I was lucky enough to see the inlet in this way. It\’s a priviledge to be able to not only live in our different areas where each is touched with paletes of beauty but to be able to be there at that moment in that time physically able to view it and spiritually connected to appreciate it is divine. Continued blessings to you wrapped in these precious moments.

(*****) …. difficult to find words to describe the beauty of the picture (I like the reflection of the light on the snow or whatever it is) and the beauty of the text added by you  …
Actually there is nothing to add …  you have said it all ….

Mark 13:26 "And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory."  The Lord is giving us a
display of coming attractions,  this our HOPE.  And he has chosen Alaska to open our eyes to the truth.  Thank you Steve for
being alert, and quick to AIM your camera for a beautiful exposure.  Most of the world lies in darkness, your pictures give the light in
a dark world that needs JESUS…..ELZA

Your comment and additional perspective was well received my friend.  There are two motives in reaching the mountaintop, and the first is that of a free spirit yearning to see all the majesty a man can behold, yet this free spirit knows it is but a speck of creation given the opportunity of awe.  The second is the vain and egotistical soul.  The would be the material world I touched on in the post.  He who knows not hardship cannot possibly truly appreciate beauty, beauty such as your work with the camera.  It is all fleeting and since the ego cannot grasp it and view it at it\’s pleasure, the sights and truths are lost in the moments of truth.  We cannot possibly know hardship unless we have wallowed among those who face it day in and day out.  The ego must be starved to bone before the life can be lived in harmonious appreciation.  We must be willing to drink heartily of the vinegar before we can truly appreciate the sweet nectar of the honey.
You, my friend Steve, do not work so diligently for the sole purpose of displaying your art.  You completely desire to be in the presence of splendor beyond human imagination to capture first the image, then to share.  It is not the least of work for you, nothing but pure glee.  You Steve, have simply chosen to be free.  God bless you my friend.

A wonderful moment when all is one .. to many fleeting and to those
who stand in the midst of a magical moment totally present become
one with it .. it consumes our being and leaves us reborn and with
    memory of greatness and awe..
Thanks for your visit Steve and the comments you left behind ..
Part of my journey has brought me back to center and Zen I am
now present I have been to the quiet stillness of space before thought
and have been a part of the magic you have seen and been part of..
It is a powerful experience to be part of formlessness a be so touched
by the beauty of this universe.. I wish you many more
