Home Again

The birds are coming back to their northern home.
The place where they make their nest, mate, and raise their babies in a few short months.
Here are some Herring Gulls at Potter Marsh just yesterday.
They are swift and graceful gulls, full of sassy behavior and personality.

Wonderful images Steve.  Love the bowing one in the middle.  And I think you were spotted by the look on the one in the bottom image.

Great pictures … excellent camera/zoom and the eye of the expert !!!
    Thanks Steve …
P.S. I like the arctic tern (Sterna paradisea) (in French : La sterne arctique)  (they "commute" between North and South Pole each year, i.e. they travel about 11,000 miles/year !!).
Have a great week-end + Hugs from very green Belgium (trees and plants just grow like mad these days … I will post a few new pics shortly).

While visiting Alaska I was able to add many birds to my lifetime bird list…Arctic tern, red-throated loon and of course those cute puffins.  It\’s a great place for birders.
Great pictures…I can almost hear them.

Birds are so beautiful, and damn them…they can fly! I wish I could fly. I have a pair of king birds who come "home" every year to make a nest in my dogwood tree. Drives the cat crazy, she can\’t get to them, but she can watch them.

Even tho my sleeping has been erratic, being awake for pre-dawn birdsong eases the stress –

What nice shots Steve.  Although no reflection on these unique creatures, "sea gulls" bring my mind back a post you had written sharing signage 🙂 .  Hope to see a few of these at the beach here tomorrow.  Have a great weekend.  May Peace And Blessings Be With You…footprints @ Life\’s Like A Beach
