Two Tree Sundown

Sunset May 10, 2008, 9:26pm
Two Trees
One dead one alive
Past and present
Closure from one, new promise of the other
Cast against the aged mountain
Illuminated by the day star
As the relentless sea…

One wonders – hard to tell w/ silhouettes if the one  was parent to the child –

  2. Sanjana says:

    Two trees ,
one tall and barren and still trying to stand tall
the other young and bountiful aiming to hold the sky
old memories for one , new challenges for the other
casting their silhouettes against the impregnable mountain
the sun bowing in respect to one and in welcome to the other
the calm sea the ever changing spectator………………

If I didn\’t know any better, I\’d say those two trees on the right were arm in arm, (or would that be branch in branch), looking at the sunset themselves. ;)Brilliant photo Steve… a beautiful piece of Alaska.

Hi, the poem is so simple yet so full of meaning.
Would love to hear more from you about Alaska. I would love to visit it someday, do you think I can find some vegetarian food there by any chance?
    Loved your space, Rama.
