This Dall Sheep Ewe wasn’t too far above the highway so I hiked up to catch a few photos. There were more up on the cliffs and I went on up, only to lose my lens cap and get through some pretty gripping moves on the mountain, foolish I thought at the time. I took a safer way down and she was still there, mellow and approachable. So I spent a little time laying and bracing in the rocks very near to photograph her in the warm late winter light. She has some marks on her from a hard life and still is a beauty. An adventure humbling and moving to me, and very rewarding in the end. When I got back near the road she was up and soon moved off. Some good luck on a Friday the 13th!
