When the grey of winter settles in here it is sometimes tough to come up with a photo.
I took a little tour today and this I saw.
A jumble of grounded ice chunks coated with the black silt at low tide in Turnagain Arm Alaska.
The big ones shown to the right of center are bigger than a pick up truck.
I have seen it before but today I chose to climb down the big rocks to the high tide line.
Just a few more steps seeking the power…
A 3 frame panorama.
No adjustment, just the way it is.
The colour is absent it seems, but the power is there.

thats ice? look so much like black rock … sometimes color is better muted, or not there at all. this is good just the way it is, i think! looks very formidable.k☼

Great photo. The color contrast between the black ice and the blue and white of the mountains makes a wonderful scene.

I like your title for this one. The Badlands of Alberta Canada is where I live. Here is can look quite forboading, but there is power and yes, beauty in the local landscape.

Yes, it does hold MUCH power. You can make even the grayest days look amazing, Steve.
