And the result:

A 2 frame panorama at 500mm of the last glimpse of sun on the high ridges of what I believe are the Neacola Mountains and the Tordrillo Mountains, north of Mount Spur. This one is not stitched but manually combined through the SLC (Sumperimposed Layer Composite) technique

Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

Awesome photos Steve. I see you still have a lot of snow happening. When does spring usually arrive in Alaska, were you live.

Horst-good question about spring, it\’s hard to say since spring comes and goes so quickly here.Right now it is snowing out and the lakes and ponds are still frozen. Sometime this month will be the big thaw, or breakup. The swans are just starting to arrive, but in a few weeks the big flocks of geese, swans, gulls, cranes and all the rest will arrive. The first flowers areusually late May.Pat-you wouldn\’t belive some of the places we have park benches here in the Chugach State Park, this one is close to a very popular parking area that is a trailhead to many hiking/climbing/skiing/biking opportunities
